来週末27、28日には、京都の一大イベントのひとつである「都の賑い」が開催されます。
「都の賑わい」は、祇園甲部、先斗町、宮川町、上七軒、祇園東の五つの花街が集い、毎年6月行われる恒例の合同公演です。
歴史伝統のあるこれらの五花街の舞妓が集い、それぞれの花街の舞を披露します。
また、五花街の舞妓が勢ぞろいする「舞妓の賑い」も必見です。
6月27、28日の両日午前の部11時～、午後の部14時30分～、四條南座での公演になります。
席によって値段も異なりますので、お好みの席をお選びください。

We have a one of the biggest events, Miyako-no-Nigiwai, held on June 27, and 28.
In Kyoto, five spots for a Maiko show are well-known as listed below.
・Gion (Koubu, and Higashi)
・Ponto-cho
・Miyagawa-cho
・Kamishichiken
Miyako-no-Nigiwai is the annual event in June having Maikos from these assembled into a hall and giving you a spectacular show.
The performance from each of these long-history and traditional Maiko places is breathtaking.
As a one must-see program, Maikos from all of these five spots will be simultaneously gathered on stage and showing us their dances with beauty are just stunning.
The show will be held twice a day at 11:00 and 14:30 on both June 27 and 28.
The venue is Shijo-Minamiza, famous hall for these performance.
They have some options for seats at different price, so please look up their official home page and purchase your preferable one.
We strongly recommend this for all of you.

５月といえば一番茶の時期ですね。
ということで、お茶摘み体験に行ってきました。
半日でカゴいっぱいまで収穫してきました。黒いシートがしている理由は日光をさえぎって育てると茶葉の緑色が濃くなり、旨みも増すそうです。
京都といえば宇治抹茶が有名です。お茶摘み体験後、抹茶のスイーツや宇治抹茶を堪能するなんてのもお勧めです。秋ごろまで体験できるところもあります。
宿に併設しているCafe Bar の輪でもうすぐ祇園辻利のアイスを取り扱うことになりました。大きな庭を眺めながらゆっくりした時をお過ごしください。
May is the first picked-tea seasons in a year.
This came to my motivation, and I went to a tea-garden to have an experience of picking new bloomed leaves of tea trees.
In a half day, I was able to pick roughly 4 kg of tea leaves.
Covering a black polyester sheet over them, the deep green leaves will be grown and the tea made from them will be better-tasted.
“Uji-Matcha tea” is pretty famous in Kyoto. After the tea-picking experience, I personally recommend having a Matcha-tea sweet or Uji-Match tea, also. There are some places available for the experience by autumn.
In an adjusting Café Bar Nowa to our property, Macha-tea ice creams from “Gion-Tsujiri”, well-known Matcha-tea shop, will be soon ready for sale.

今年もこの時期がやってきました！
毎年人気の川床です。
去年は、貴船の川床に行って、昼に食事しました。
加茂川等のものに比べると、とてもひんやりした空間で癒させました。
今年は、また違うものに行ってみたいと思います！
昼も夜もそれぞれ良さがあるので、皆さんもぜひ行ってみてくださいー！

Kawadoko, the riverside resutaurant, is seasonally opened now.
This is one of the biggest annual events in Kyoto, and has lots of people visiting to enjoy it every year.
I personally visited Kibune for that at lunch time.
Comparing to Kamogawa’s one, I could chill out with the nice temperature in the nature.
I would love to give it a try to other ones.
Both ones in day time and at night have their attractions, so please visit there if your interest is grabbed by this even a little.
It is held from May to the end of September. (*Lunch time is available in May and September only.)

そう、祇園祭！
現在、四条烏丸周辺では沢山の山鉾が立ち並び、お囃子の音が聞こえています
宵々々山と呼ばれる一昨日14日から四条通が一部歩行者天国になり、
宵々山と呼ばれる昨日15日からは夜店が
お高島屋さんではこんな展示も行われています↓
実は今年の山鉾の巡行は２回に分けて行われるんです
例年通りの17日（前祭）と24日（後祭）があり、この後祭が行われるのは49年ぶりの事だそうです!!
今年は150年ぶりに大船鉾も復活し、盛り上がること間違いなし！

It’s mid July already
In Kyoto, now is the festival season coming.
It’s Gion Festival!!
In Shijo Karasuma area, you can see many floats and hear the sound of Japanese festival music now!
From the day before yesterday, called yoi-yoi-yoi yama, a part of shijo street became pedestrian mall.
And yesterday, called yoi-yoi yama, night stalls will be held
In Takashikaya Department Store, there is a exhibition like this:
Normally, main parade is on 17th, just once.
However, 49 years to the day, in this year, it will be held twice, on 17th (preceding parade) and 24th (latter parade).
And this is the original form of it, separate into 2 parades.
You can’t miss this historic moment!
Also, when you go to the festival, how about renting yukata??

京都は底冷えのするさむーい日が続いています。
私がそんな寒い日に欠かせないのがコーヒー！
今回は皆様お馴染みのスターバックスについて！
スターバックスには “コンセプトストア”と呼ばれる、その土地の文化を受け継ぐ店舗があり、京都にある2カ所をご案内します(*^^*)
まずは一つ目は三条大橋店
ここのお店の特徴は何と言っても5月から9月の間登場する納涼床！
最近はリーズナブルなお店が増えて来たとはいえ、まだまだ高級店の多いのも事実。
それが、こんな身近なお店で楽しめちゃうんです！
但し混雑時は床の席を待っている人がずらーっといたりしますが笑
また、地下のソファーの席もお勧め！
鴨川を眺めながらゆーったり出来ます。
次に烏丸六角店
こちらは名前からもわかる通り、六角堂の真横にある店舗で、店内からは六角堂をこんな風に見ることが出来ます！
ライトアップされて、迫力がありますねー。
実はこの大きなガラス窓、京都市の条例による「烏丸通りからガラス越しに見える六角堂を遮らない」という条件を満たすためのものなんです！
京都にはこのように景観を保護するための規制が数多く存在し、街中では京都ならではのコンビニやファーストフード店の看板を見つけることができます。

It’s really cold in Kyoto, recently.
In such cold day, a cup of hot coffee is my must-have!!
This time is about well-known Starbucks!
There are some stores called “concept stores” which inherit the culture of each area.
I’d like to introduce you 2 concept stores in Kyoto:
Firstly, it’s in Sanjyo Oohashi
The feature of this store is the “Noryo-Yuka”, appeared in May – September.
Recently, there are some resonable restaurants with Yuka, but basically restaurants with Yuka is expensive.
In this store, you can enjoy the atomosphere of it with a cup of coffee!!
Sometimes, there are many people in line waiting for the seats of Yuka, though…
And I’d like to reccomend sofa seats in basement floor.
With the view of Kamo river, you can spend relaxing time; )
Next one is in Karasuma Rokkaku.
As you can guess from the name, this store is located next to Rokkakudou Temple, one of the oldest temples in Kyoto.
From the inside of the store, you can see the Rokkakudo- temple like this:
Don’t you think it’s dynamic??
Actually, this huge glass window is for fulfill the regulation of Kyoto city,
“Not to interrupt the view of Rokkakudou from Karasuma street” .
In Kyoto, there are several regulation for protecting the landscape.
Especially in city center, you can find some Kyoto- original signs of convenience store or fast food restaurant.
How about looking for them when you are in Kyoto??
